Tight timeframes!

We got notice that we have to extend our trip home to November 12th now. Four of the days we are there will be Unity Day, which is a Russian holiday. All offices are closed for those 4 days so we had to extend our time in Moscow.
That is all fine, but we have no wiggle room now. We have a 30 day tourist visa so we HAVE to leave Russia on 11-12, we can't stay 1 day longer. We were told if for some reason Maddux's visa is not there on time, we have to leave the country to apply for another 30 day visa. BIG PAIN and expensive. But the worst part is we would have to leave Maddux behind, they would have to find someone there to watch him. We have been assured this should not happen and we should be OK but we will be pressing our coordinators and make sure we rush his visas. The other couple we are traveling with are in the same boat so we will work together to ensure we leave!

In 2 weeks we leave, hard to believe!!!

  1. Ack! That's a pain. We had a similar situation...and ended up getting new visas. A complete pain and expensive, but I didn't want to have to worry about it (we were just worried about a cancelled flight, which happened on our second trip but luckily not on our third). Is there any way you can get a new visa with a later end date?

Aside from that stuff, so exciting that you're on the final stretch of this journey! Isn't it crazy how much you wait and wait and then suddenly - poof - it's all in the past?
