Homestudy almost finalized but more delays on horizon!

Well it has taken a few weeks for the manager at our Homestudy agency to approve and finalize our homestudy. It was finally sent to our Adoption agency today. Our agency reviewed and sent back the revisions right away. Our social worker is wonderful there. So we are hoping by next week it's finally all complete and we can move on to the USCIS stage.

We were told today however to expect more delays. I guess the FBI clearances are taking a long time, they are backed up. And the Kaz embassy is also very backed up, they have been flooded with new dossier submissions and will be backlogged now.

So at this point it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel here.
It sounds like many couples are in the same boat we are, must be a lot of people out there adoptiong and facing the same struggles we have.

It's hard to understand sometimes why it's so difficult for people like me to just have a family. It's so very easy for some, it doesn't make sense sometimes....
I do know however that others are worse off and have gone through much more difficult things.
I guess I just have to be patient and know that one day I will understand. It's funny how life is like that. The most difficult things I have faced in my life didn't make sense at the time. But in time I could see why I had to face that issue and somehow it made sense.

So here's to hoping when I look back and read this one day I will 'get it' and it will all make sense!

  1. Hi - just found your blog and wanted to wish you luck. The time will go by more quickly than you think! My husband and I are waiting for our LOI, and it seems like we've been waiting forever, but on the other hand, this past year has gone by very quickly. Read lots of blogs while you're waiting - there is a lot of support out there!

  3. Hello from another waiting family! Try not to get discouraged (much easier said than done I know). Do you best to keep busy, busy, busy. Working on your dossier will help pass the time for sure. Reading Blogs will help you feel connected and fuel your enthusiasum as you wait. There will be bumps in the road but in the end your dream of becoming parents WILL come true.

    Good luck and best wishes.

  4. Jenny, if you want to send me your e-mail address, post another message to my blog. I won't send mine to you here because it posts immediately and we try to keep things somewhat private, but if you send yours, it will come only to my e-mail, and I will not post it. Let me know if you have any questions I can help with.
